About the Event

Come enjoy some Sri Lankan hospitality along with some declicious food using our beautiful local San Diego ingredients fresh from the farm. The menu has been selected to complement the seasonal produce that will be at peak season at our nearby farms and my garden.  All dishes will be plated for you so sit back, relax and enjoy the company.  Invite a friend to join you or get to know new people.   Seating is limited to 12 so RSVP now! 

Drinks:

We will offer a Kombucha cocktail with local coconut arak and treacle.  If you would like additional *alcohol please feel free to BYO (I will make suggestions below). 

Appetizer:

Fish Cutlets (croquets) with hot sauce or ketchup.  A very populart "short eat" at roadside tea stands, and parties 

Chickpeas with fresch coconut and spices (found at street food vendors along the beaches)

Dinner:

Ghee rice with aromatic spices 

Tomato chicken curry in a rich gravy with cilantro and curry leaves (midium spice)

Dhal cooked in coconut milk, curry leaves, pandan leaves, and spices (mild) 

Tempered green beans with onions and spices (mild)

Tomato, onion, beet (or fried eggplant) salad with preserved lemons.  (beets or eggplant will be substituted based on farm availability)

Dessert:

Homemade cinnamon ice cream with flambed pinaple (or local stone fruit)  in arak and drizzled with treacle (coconut flower sap- think maple syrup)

*alcohol is mainly BYO for legal reasons but you are welcome to bring a bottle to share with your frineds/guests.  I will offer the Kombucha cocktail for those interested.  Please let us know when you sit down.  Beer- lagers, IPA's, or something mild like a corona or modelo.  Wine- Reislings (dry), Viogner, savignon blac, or pinot gregio/gris.  A light rose, or prosecco will also go well. If you prefer a red a lighter bodied wine will be ideal- pinot noir, lambrusco, or grenach.  I also recommend some ginger beer (we will offer this as a cocktail in our next dinner) 

Will be dining al fresco in our garden.  The evenings can be warm or cool so please dress accordingly.  There is no need to dress up, but if you would like to please feel free. 

Be sure to give us your email that you check frequently so we can give you our address and parking instructions. 

NOTE: ALL attendees must be vaccinated due to the health and safety of my family and for all the guests who are attending.  If you need to use our restroom, please bring a mask to wear inside the house.
